Scripps Ranch is a beautiful community in the northeastern part of San Diego just south of Poway. It gets its’ name from E.W. Scripps, a newspaper publisher who owned the original 400-acre ranch where the city now resides.
Scripps Ranch has an estimated population of about 35,000 residents and is serviced by the San Diego City school system. Scripps is also home to several universities, including Alliant International University, John Paul the Great Catholic University and National University. In addition to its’ reputable schools, the community is the location for several large corporations including Hitachi, LG Electronics, Lockheed Martin and MedImpact.
Residents can enjoy many outdoor activities within the community including Miramar Reservoir’s recreational boating and fishing activities and the many walking trails throughout the area.
