Welcome to Rancho Santa Fe

Established in 1928, Rancho Santa Fe is one of the most exclusive and beautiful communities in the country. Commonly referred to as the Covenant, the term refers to an agreement among property owners to preserve the character of the community. The Covenant of Rancho Santa Fe covers about 10 square miles and is home to 4,300 residents.

The Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club is located at the center of the Covenant and features a private golf course designed by Max Behr and is open to Covenant members and their guests. It served as the original site for the 1930-era clambakes hosted by Bing Crosby, an early resident of the Covenant.

Rancho Santa Fe consists of low density, large-lot residential properties with an average of 2+ acres. The Covenant also has an extensive network of private equestrian and hiking trails running throughout the community.

Preservation of the community’s unique and exclusive character are incredibly important to the residents, as is privacy and security. Rancho Santa Fe has a private security patrol and is additionally served by the San Diego’s Sheriff Department and California Highway Patrol.
